Clove Valley
Lagrangeville, New York
Doyle Coffin Architecture designed a new dining pavilion for the Clove Valley Rod & Gun Club that celebrates the club’s rich sporting heritage while creating a memorable destination for members and guests. Carefully sited along a hillside overlooking the Hudson Valley, the building captures sweeping panoramic views and strengthens the connection between the club’s indoor gathering spaces and the surrounding landscape.
Drawing inspiration from traditional sporting lodges and agricultural structures found throughout the region, the building features dark barn-siding, standing-seam metal roofing, exposed timber framing, and a commanding stone fireplace that serves as the focal point of the dining room. Warm natural materials create an inviting atmosphere that reflects the character and traditions of the club.
Large folding glass walls open the dining room directly to an outdoor terrace and fire pit overlooking the valley beyond. During favorable weather, the boundaries between inside and outside disappear, allowing members to dine, socialize, and enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. The result is a flexible, year-round gathering place that enhances the club experience while embracing the natural beauty that makes Clove Valley such a special destination.
